USI - BF2 Mod

The first real mod of BF2 is out as a beta and as ever, TiG have a server running for us

Oh....The maps are pretty good, the choppers feel more like DC but not exactly like DC, pilot controls laser guided hellfires and the tanks have 2 ammo rounds and a zoom

What about the excellent project reality and operation peacekeeper?

USI is good but so far project reality is the best imo,crosshairs are for girls

IMO each of these mods are far better than normal BF2.

I had forgotten about OPK but I just don't feel that PRMM is all that's it's cracked up to be. version 0.3 is better than 0.25 but I don't care for their Threat and Worth stuff but the new gamemods are pretty good.

edit : Though I will admit that the way arty works with PRMM is much better (only squads can call for arty).

what about the tactical mod and nations of war was up till 4am last night playin the tactical mod no crosshairs no arty no uav, totally infantry based mod, very rockin stuff

eh this might be a dumb question but do the players have to download the mod or just the server?

and if i download it can i still play normal bf2

looks awesome btw cant wait to try something new, starting to get tired of some maps on normal bf2

Server files are for dedicated servers only. Client files are for those wanting to play the game themselves.

Tactical mod is fun, esp on the TG server, but it's still just a 'mini-mod' with changes to make the game feel different as opposed to a mod with new weapons/maps/etc...

If i install any of these can i play normal BF2 or will PunkBuster recognise them as invalid files ??

Also is it possible to have more than 1 mod installed at any 1 time ?

And to uninstall, do you have to uninstall your whole game or can you just uninstall the mod and go back to normal BF2 straight after ?

Yes you can have more than one installed, i have 3 running atm including USI.Some of the maps are quality including the city infantry map.

No readme or .scr or anything

Am i to presume it gets extracted to the main BF2 folder or what ?

Did you download usi_0.1_client.rar which has 4 files in it ?

one of the files is small a few megs the battlefront one is over 800 megs so i take it that will work

Tried it

I like the way they did up all the vehicles n tanks n apc's
Also the guns sound a lot better

RPG's are the ****

F-16's seem to be like the J-10's
A-10's are cool

, gonna be destroyed unless its been flanked by an f-16 as the bombers have no lock on missiles for other planes,and attack planes have no bombs

Still didnt get to try the heat missile on the tank

Wasnt impressed witht he graphics though, they seem to be worse than BF2, and all the terrain is just plain and bland

Decent mod though, gonna get a few more and try em out

Does this happen when you click Join Game? If so, then set your Terrain to medium in your Video settings. That worked for me.

Was aware of that (I do use Google a lot

), tried all usual remedies but to no avail. I've given up and uninstalled + will give Project Reality a run tonight
