    Hi folks,

Just wanted to let those of you interested in first person shooters that there is a free trial available for Battleground Europe - World War II Online. If you're not familliar, it's a massively multiplayer first person simulation of WWII set in a single persistent game world.

I've posted more details here if you're interested:

If you want instant action and state of the art graphics, WWIIOL probably won't be the game for you.

It's more of a simulation than existing first person shooters like BF2.

It's the fact that you fight with and against thousands in a single persistent game world that makes it unique.

The game ''takes place'' in WWII europe and the axis and allies fight it out untill one side controls all of europe which can take weeks or months, or sometimes days. The map is vast!

Just wanted to clarify that it's not pretending to compete with games like BF2 it's a totally different beast.

Do you reccommend Red Orchestra? I haven't played it yet but heard good things. Some eastern front action might be nice. A disproportionate number of games concentrate on the western front given the 20 million russians that died on the other side. The western front was a side show when it came to the destruction of the Wehrmacht.
