New 1.2 Unlocks

So has anyone tried them out yet. I've one unlock at the moment and cant decide between the new sniper rifle L96 and the Anti-Tank weapon p90

The P90 is okay, but not amazing. Nice big mags with 50 rounds, and a red dot sight. But a slow rate of fire, and poor power i.e 5 or 6 htis to kill. The L96 is exactly the same as the M24.

Yea I was leaning towards the p90, notreally into the whole sniping scene anyway. I'd say some of the hardcore snipers might argue about there being no difference with the L96

No, the L96 and M24 have the exact same stats.

The L96 is superb, was using it there fired 6 shots got 6 kills.
Theres no stray over middle distances at all so aim for the head from mid distance and you will nail them.

Mp7 Engineers gun is okish if your beside them.

L96 would be there mainly for mec and chinese forces i guess as an alternative gun, theirs are'nt the greatest for distance.

Im one of the few who took the last of the old updates about 2 wks ago...But my god eventually picked up the sniper of a dead enemy and all i can say is wow...I dont normally use sniper but even the bolt action simulation is very sexy!

Silly me unlocked 2 new weapons when ea allowed it a week or so,little did i know then these unlocks were for the patch.
My score is about 22,000,anyone know when my next unlock score is please?
Picked up the new sniper rifle from a corpse,dying to get my hands on it for good.

Your last two unlocks are at a horrifying 50,000 when you go to sergeant major.

Ok i went back to my very first account with 200 or so points.
got to unlock soon after but new sniper rifle was not on list of choices?
Do i need to unlock the ****ty M95 first?

I have SF and i initially got 2 unlocks.
I just thought they were SF unlocks,i didnt realise they were for upcoming patch until i came on here soon after,damn EA.

i think with sf u got some unlocks. the recent unlocks i think were released to test them for the new patch. if u unlocked them, u will have to wait a while for ur next ones.

Yeah sems i have to wait till i get to 50,000 ,ffs.
When these unlocks were available before the patch why didnt it say dont unlock until patch release before folk unlocked them.
All the big BF2 forums are ranting about this issue also.
Seems theres nothing i can do except wait till i get to 50,000 on my main account,5,000 on another account and 500 on one ive just started just to get my hands on that sweet sniper rifle

i started a new account,went up a rank @ 150 points but no unlock,another rank @ 500 points and got to unlock m95 as apparently i need to unlock it before new sniper rifle.
i understand next unlock is 800 points for corporal rank,fingers crossed i get to unlock @ 800,im 750 odd atm,me goes off to grind to 800.
Picked up the new sniper few times more from fallen soldiers and love it,the sound is superb.
EDIT:
Just to add,i got to 800 and went up a rank and got to unlock,the only thing is it doesnt give me option to unlock new sniper even after unlocking m95 first ffs.
Looks like ill have to wait till 50,000 points

You'll need to play SF on that account as vanilla has no unlock weapons otherwise after the M95.

You have to play SF under that account he means, only once i imagine.

The new sniper is'nt better than others, the update hasd really improved all snipers. Had the M24 last night and it was savage, just as good as the new one, the thing i prefer about the new sniper is it sounds cool.

Yes, on the new account, just one round of SF gets you the right to unlock the rest. Otherwise your new account is vanilla only, so no SF or EF unlocks.

Man i love the thing ,its the sound as you lads say that makes it a pleasant weapong to kill with

You need seargant to start getting your SF unlocks unfortunately. But you get the backlog of unlocks.

Not quite, at sergeant you start getting the extra unlocks from SF, however the unlocks earned in vanilla can also be spent on SF unlocks if you've played at least one round of SF on that account.

i havent got any new unlocks at all!!! I thought i was supposed to get one for the 1.2 patch? I'm just after getting enough points last night to go up to the next rank so should i get one or two unlocks the next time i log in?

If you have played SF on your account then you would have got two about two weeks ago, the patch itself doesn't give you them.
