    A good while ago, I was asking about this, and I've now got a solution, if anyone's interested. I couldn't get the suggestions in the original thread to work, so I'm now using qemu with a 250MB Win98 image. It's working perfectly, I can do my banking without rebooting or even interrupting anything else I'm doing on Linux, and it means I can reclaim the 2.4GB of disk space currently occupied by Win2K.

    As they say, woo-hoo! :D

    Are you using the kernel module accelerator with it?
    I use qemu to give occasional IE views on websites I'm involved with and while it works perfectly, it is quite slow.
    It's adequate, used infrequently, and stable though, so
    I didn't take it any further.

    Have you seen this?
    It's a way of shoehorning a virtual OS, like your qemu '98 install into the freely available vmware player.
    You might have fun with it!

    Good to hear the orignal problem is sorted anyway.

    I'm using the accelerator, alright, and so far I've found it ok - not blazing along by any means, but it suits me for the moment, anyway.

    I came across some references to vmplayer, but didn't follow them up - I'll have a look at that link, though, if only for curiosity's sake. Thanks. :)
