a little help here!!

hey!!basically my problem is getting into a good practice routine!!i find it hard to know wheather im learning the right things or how long to spend doing it!!im learning lead!!so just wanted advice on practice routines and what to be learning!!

Make sure to practise every day, get into a habit of it. If you're learning lead, then just stick on a track that you know the key of, and solo along with it, or else just record your self playing a rhythm track on tape/cd/computer and solo along to that. I found the 12 bar blues very helpful in improving my lead play

set aside time to practice... make out a plan of practin.. different techniques learnin diff songs... i made one a while back, most if it is taken from vai's 30 hour workout, only kinda personalised it a bit........ a bit of diciplin helps too!

somethin like that helps.... 10 mins a day is better than 1 hour on a sunday

Thats a pretty good schedule Al. Wratchild, scope out Al's approach. Myself and a lot of people on this board can supply you with excercises and links for any of the component parts for such a master plan. Righteous.
