What am I gonna call this thing? I cant use 'Bad Beat' as thats being used in the USA.

Want to use something poker related with cancer in the name.

Poker book for the winner from my personal collection.

I don't think you can use a percent sign. There are sites like xe.com and o2.ie etc, so that's not the problem. How about www.1-percent.org ?

also, maybe you could seek sponsorship from a casino, in return for naming the charity after them (ala USA football stadiums). I'm sure the Sporting Emporium would love a chance to publicise themselves.

I think you should keep it very simple Dave. onepercentfund.com is good. I don't think you should have any reference to cancer in it because it's such a great idea and there's definitely the opportunity there to expand. .com is a necessity. That's my two cents, no doubt it's been said already, I'm just too lazy to read through all the responses!:)

Dave, as an afterthought, I really think it's an amazing idea and could be absolutely huge. Online poker sites (I have pokerstars in mind particularly) would love to legitimise their industries through this sort of venture. They're completely obsessed with moralising poker. Every time you lodge money you could have the choice to automatically donate 1% of whatever you may win to a pre chosen charity of your choice. It's similar enough to the lottery which is essentially gambling but is accepted because a portion of the money goes to legitimate causes. I really think that if you get a decent web address, and reinvest a decent amount of the initial donations, you could raise millions a year for charity.
