I always have hunger pains. I ate three dinner sized meals in the space of 3 hours yesterday, and all last week for that matter. and I still 'felt' hungry. Would this warrant a gp visit, or would i be wasting his time?

Could this be a stomach ulcer?

No Kernel it couldnt. There would be some associated pain in the stomach region. It could quite possibly be worms which is a lot more common than people realise. The statistic is 1 in 5 poeple worldwide have or have had worms at some stage of their life.
Fortunately Pighead isn't part of this 20%

I have constant pain, but it feels like hunger pain. Right now, and all last night too, whether i have just ate or not. The pain is just below rib cage (diaphragm area), above the belly button. Its at me right now.,:(

If it's bothering you, I think you should go to the doctor. I know you're not really asking for a diagnosis here but the thread is kind of heading in that direction.

I reckon you have worms Pighead, you stuff your gut with junk food, cake and sweets all day, every day, and you still look like an escaped x-ray. Seriously, there's more meat on a vegetarians toothpick!

    Go to your doctor.

I'm keeping this thread open because it looks like an amusing conversation is developing between Pigface and kernel.........

eat slowly, if you wolf food down the normal feedback mechanism from your stomach may not kick in till later on, mastication is good

try eating less processed food and try more bulky food to fill yourself up, fruit/veg . porraige made with less water than normal is extremely filling

if you can't link the constant pain to something physical like someone having a poke at you with a stick then it's best to visit the doctor

worms - /me has great idea for diet pills, me heads for eBay

I do eat proper food, and regularly (as I started working out 4 months ago, and that entails eating properly). Im to see my gp tomorrow at 11, but the pain has been here for over a week now, all the time. Best describes as a hunger pain, but a little higher. Hopefully the doc will shed some light on it, Ill let yis know.

Right, im back. Its an ulcer alright, not sure what type (gastric, or duodenal), he seems to think its duodenal, gave me 2 weeks of Zoton, and I have to go back for checkup in 2 weeks.
So, since i never drink alcohol, or do drugs, and i eat properly, what causes them. Is it stress?? as some people have said to me.

Didn't they find out it was bacteria all along ?

Hmm, i was reading up a bit on them, seems to be 90% caused by bacteria, but either way its sore, and hopefully it wont be for long. :(

Yea, something like 90% of duodenal peptic ulcers are caused by Helicobacter pylorii, causes 70% of gastric ulcers too.

A friend of mine is always like this. Shes got an over-active thyroid gland which makes her body digest her food at an incredible rate so shes always hungry, skinny as a stick too!Maybe have a chat with your GP to see what he/she says

    H. pylori infections are really common is seems. They can also cause
heartburn, especially during exercise. For a while there i thought i was getting mini-heartattacks. Turns out it was excess-acid reflux caused by those little buggers which slowly erodes the oesophagus.....nice

Yeah they put you on a three in one treatment for H.Pylori. They do a test where you blow into something and they can diagnose H.Pylori that way.
The three in one treatment has an anti-biotic, a proton pump inhibitor (makes acid production decrease) and something else that i cant remember.
