Came up in the office this morning... who were you??
Effeminate though it may seem, I was unstoppable as Chun Li :P

Ah memories, i always liked the guy with the claw, think he was spanish, but won most with Blanka, ah, back-forward-C, i can still remember most of the moves.

I think Ryu and Ken were the real purists characters. Amateurs like myself stuck with Chun li (as I said) and that sumo guy's mega slap attack thing...

Ryu most of the time, I loved guile though. Very few moves in that game more satifying than his mid-air suplex. Although that said, getting someone with Zangief's spinning piledriver was an almost boner-enducing feat.

Ken was my fabourite character to be, for some weird reason, even though they were identical, I couldn't play as well with Ryu!

Ah great game, remember playing it on the big arcade machines before the bus used to take us to football games. Its a wonder the buttons stood up to the thrashing we used to give it, and the biggest debate ever between my friends was..

i was a ken man myself. 4 point draggon punches were heaven. me & my mates played it so much we even discovered cheats in the arcade version. handcuffs & the elusive magic throw.

do u know when you done a special type move (i think) with ken or ryu what did they say? was it actually ryuken? i could never make it out

for some reason i hated sagat, i was always guile and if it was not him who said "sonic boom" then im wrong

Man those were the days eh, hours at the arcade, wanting to play as the 4 bosses (Balrog, Vega, Sagat and M.Bison) because you couldnt play as them on the SNES. Climbing the cage with Vega, finally getting the twisting jumping piledriver with Zangief after wearing out the directional pad on the SNES control pad going round in circles, finally defeating M.Bison after multiple hours play.

AFIK.. The mame site is a perfectly legal site, as is rom-world.

Heres a quote from the Mame site regarding legality:

Ive downloaded mame and played a few games. Most of which Ive played for about 3 days before becomming bored. I dont feel like Im violating any laws or doing anything wrong. Streetfighter 2 can also be played online for free as a shockwave [flash] game.

Ryu and Sagat = Harcore Oldskool Badasses, its ****ed up how much of my youth i spent at that game. MK3 is a close contender i reckon, most of you will dissagree im sure:v:

I always thought he said sidestep-dooken... or something..

I still play it all the time on the ps2, the anniversary edition has all the other charachters like Cammy and T.Hudson...

best lines ever. I remember the little scumbags in the pierrot club in dun laoighaire trying to pickpocket people as they played. I remember the proper jap version where the boxer was called m bison (mike tyson, name was changed as it was the time of the rape trial and it wasnt right to have him vs chun li!) the spanish lad was called balrog originally, and the final russian guy was vega.
The there were all the bootleg editions in town, you can get them on mame or callus too.

yeah it runs great on the snes emulator on my psp. Ive been playing a snes rpg reccomended to me called chronotrigger which is also excellent.
