Any microphone will do, however you can buy a USB phone (I've see that the 3G Stores are stocking them) or you can buy a headset which can be very handy

I signed up to Skype last month and was considering purchasing a suitable headset/micraphone. Any basic model should do: try e-bay or order online.

The wireless phones from 3G look great but I was quoted a price in and around €200 - this negates any cost savings you might get from Skype.

However, before I was about to order a phone from the Skype site someone suggested that I try my bluetooth headset that I got with my Nokia phone. To this day I use it and I have had no problems with it. It does the job perfectly.

Although I have been put off using Skype because of my sh1t broadband connection, IBB Ripwave. (That's a story for another thread)

All depends on what and how often you are going to use Skype but definitely ask any of your mates for any spares as there is no real need to buy a top of the range headset.

Peats in Parnell street have wide range of skype certified products which also have skype out vouchers included.

Although I've never really found peats competitive on price, but they good for advice and specialist products.

    Best Regards
