AOL / NTL broadband?

I just read somewhere that AOL Time Warner are interested in buying NTL so they can provide broadband. Is this true? It's a 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses. HIT IT!

Their talking about doing a deal with ntl for access to ntls network in europe, not buying them. I seriously douth it would affect ireland though.
