Right. Vote in the poll for CS1.6 or CS:Source. Poll closes in 7 days.
Sign-up below for the tourny if you want to play regardless of version to be played.
Otherwise post "interested" and await the poll results at the end of the week.

Format: both teams agree on map to be played, play 1 round as Terrorists/CTs each. Best overall round score wins.

I think I'll vote 1.6 aswell, not that I'm going to be playing, but it seems to be the lowest common denominator. And Source dedicated servers are resource-whores for some reason (physics).

dont think theres a ghetto russian version for source and they have changed so many commands i dont think the 1.6 server ones will apply.

Personally I don't think it's feasible to run a CS:Source compo, the Source dedicated servers are whores. It may just be a crappy linux port though.
Considering HL2DM was running at about 90% of a 2Ghz AthlonXP on binary with only about 8 ppl on it whereas CS1.6 serverload was negligible....
Must do some testing with binary and stewie (Windows hl2ds vs. Linux hl2ds).
I can only hope they've improved it.

CS 1.6, good base for competitions

Will probably have CS:Source by the time of the lan but not sure about how easy it will be with steam.

Is CSS in the CPL?

Worth a click, there is even a cool CS tune made out of the music in the game.
CSS is not good for competitions. Its still buggy and can be unfair sometimes. There eventually will be a CSS pro or something which may be in competitions. But as of yet the Counter-strike community still play 1.6

We should have HLTV and stats set up for 1.6
