    Can anyone tell me the difference between Connection Speed / Download Speed.

    connection speed is merely the maximum speed negotiated between you and the next link, meaning the port in the exchange.

    however you dont download anything from your exchange, data travels down to you from the ISPs network, and the internet, and this is your actual download speed.

    You download speed can be equal or less, than your connection speed.
    connection speed is rate-adaptive ( distance dependent ), download speed is not ( at least not directly, as its purely limited by connection speed ).

    if you connect at 2 Mbit, and you download at 1Mbps, and they say, oh its rate-adaptive, then go light a fire under their ass lol.
