Problems involving 3V and Ebay...

3v is the Virtual Visa service provided by permanent tsb.
Anyway, I ordered one of these and put money on it.
I registered on eBay with the details and had no problems.
I bid on a few items.
Then, I noticed that in my account details under Personal Information it said I had no credit card details entered. I entered them again and it said it would have to authorise the card by charging €1 but implied that I would get it back. Then it said I had to be a seller to use this credit card but I did not sign up as a seller because you need to use a bank account for that.
So, I decided I would just transfer my money from the virtual visa to a paypal account. Here they charged me €1 and I still couldn't use it.
I tried to do it on eBay again but it didn't work.
I checked my account details on 3v and it said I was down €3 even though I still couldn't use my card.
I know its only €3 but I shouldn't have to pay it and also, I have won items but cannot pay for them through eBay.
Does anyone know how I can retract my bid or anything?
I was sure virtual visas worked on EBAy - do they usually?

As far as I remember the €1 ebay charge was to confirm your credit card, and on your credit card statement in the details section for the €1 payment should be your password to confirm your credit card :)

edit: Dunno if thats much use for a 3v as I dont know if you get statements.

2nd Edit: To retract a bid on ebay you need to contact the seller and explain why you want to cancel the bid, then its up to his discretion to cancel it.

And is it possible to get a Paypal account using 3V? How does it all work? Can you get funds credited to your 3V account from a buyer using paypal?

Do you get charged €4 every time you use the 3v card? I have a 3V card, just haven't bothered to use it yet

Well, you just assign your card and add funds i.e. transfer the amount you want into paypal.

You get charged €4 when you load the money on in a newsagent. (€5 if its over €100)
