IT DOES actually work . I had it for a bit. It is fine for page rendering but file download speeds don't change much. Got speeds of 397K on 56k Modem. Even so saved me from pulling my hair out when I was stuck with dialup for a month. I even used it with Skype . Very good tool if you are stuck with dialup.
