NTL connection speeds

    How do you establish what speed you're connected to with NTL. LAN icon in bottom right of Windows XP says 100mps but I'm on the middle option (€35 p/m) which I thought was more than that??

    The 100 mbits is the connection from your PC to the LAN interface on the router/modem you have. The actual connection speed to the internet can be established usually by running speed test software. The most popular for irish sites at the moment is here:

    In my modem I can go to http://192.168.100.1/P_operation.htm the ID and password should be " admin "and there you will see "Maximum Downstream Data Rate : 2048000 bps" and the "Maximum Upstream Data Rate : 200000 bps" they should be a bit higher than the speeds you got on the http://www.irishisptest.com/ results.
