Hey guys recently got BT Broadband, I have just discovered their usage site and I have downloaded a good chunk already in a week, what I would like to know what the Bt broadband cap is and how much is charged for exceeding it.

1 Meg as far as I know. Its the one for 49 euro month with phone line rental.

I think it is 16 too. Too my knowledge, BT havent charged anyone for going over the cap so you should be ok.

If your paying €49 the 2 meg is only an extra €8 & the cap is 24gb

I tnk the new prices are €50 for 2mb+line rental. And thats 24GB. (as of July 11th ish)

You're right, it's €50 for 2mb BB + line rental. I just got it too (although I got the intro offer for €35 for 1st 4 months).

BTW, where is the usage site??? Sounds interesting.

Download allowance on the 1mb product is 12gb.

I ordered an upgrade to 2mb last week does anyone know how long it generally takes before its upgraded.

Usually a couple of days..don,t think they tell you , just check irishisptest every day or 2.

When they upgraded mine to 2mb it took 9 working days (and a few phone calls). Like bellerb said, they don't notify you when it's done so keep an eye on your router and the speed test.

Ok guys I got my 2mb broadband today, is their any differences that will notice.

Not trying to be smart, but the major difference is that you will notice a double speed increase. 2MB instead of 1MB.

I ordered an upgrade today also. Their website ways that the Home Plus package is 128Kb upload but their phone guys said that it is now 256Kb upload. That's why I upgraded.
