Bandwidth Limiter for SuSE

    Hey everyone,

    I just started using Azureus on Linux for the first time, and I'm looking for a way to limit the upload bandwidth it consumes. On Windows I normally use NetLimiter, and I was hoping to find a similar GUI utility for Linux, but numerous searches have turned up nothing.

    I'm not averse to using the command line either if it comes down to it. Has anyone got any suggestions?

    Can't that be done in the options of Azureus ?
    Tools > Options > Transfer.

    In Windows atm but as it's cross platform so I'd assume it's more or less the same.

    Yep Azureus can limit it's own up and downstream rates. Works fine in Linux which I use.

    AFAIK it reduces the maximum download bandwidth proportionally though, although I'm not 100% on that?

    Nope yesterday, I was downloading at pretty much full speed while uplaoding at 5KB/s.

    5kbps is a bit high for the 16kbps upload (~10kbps effective throughput) that I share with 3 other people though. I was thinking of something closer to... 1kbps! :)
