  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

From my "Take a loan" thread:

No guitar in that. I'll rework it later if you'd like. I want that pie.

PS, what sort of pie is it?

    Lets see here...
    Ibanez RGT42 - €639
    ENGL Fireball Head - €1035
    Behringer Ultrastack 4x12 - €311

Nice little rig there, methinks. :)

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Of course, you'd need a foot switch to control the Fireball...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,130 ✭✭✭✭Karl Hungus

Oh yes, of course. Assuming I got one free, that's a pretty good rig, eh?

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

    I prefer mine :p

And no, no footswitches with ENGL amps afaik. That's another €150 to the price :(

Rip off merchants! I'd probably score a second hand Mark IV for that price. Still, the Behringer cab looks nice, doesn't it?

Hmmm the pie is in transit fey:D. But... I think my projected rig is really my ideal one...

    Engl thunder 760
Gibson SG special 680 + 120 for new pickup and servicing etc.
I'd say that my pedalboard and leads and cases and stuff cost me over €440 but a lot of that isnt necessary TBH.

    Woo, pie for me!

With the exception of mine and jcoote's rigs, everyone else has clean or distortion sounds, nothing else. Not really a best rig imo. Versitility is the name of the game imo.

No it isn't. It's all about building a rig for under €2k, simple as that. Just because it does involve a GT8, doesn't mean it's not good. I'm not going to include things like a G Major, that I wouldn't use in a rig for me.

Meh... add a g major and a behringer fcb1010 off ebay to mine so...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,693 ✭✭✭david

Yeah i get all of my sounds/bleeps from my pedalboard... its my ideal rig... i probably wouldnt use a g major

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

In my book, a "best rig" with no certain sound required would be a rig that can make any sound the average guitarist would need. You put the Peavey C 50 and the GT-8 together with the 4 cable method and you can control everything you want from one pedal!

    What's a g major?

You guys really need to go back to square one and check out some vintage fenders, that's where the juice is! :)

    *waits for feylya's scolding*

Lost it? I never had it ;)

There's something incredible about a strat into a Bassman though. Not metal at all but it still rocks!
