I have to tread very carefully or the secret police will kill this thread altogether as they have done already tonight. There is a certain make of a laptop lock that can be opened with a bit of loo-roll

Ask your friend google for laptop cardboard and the 6th result will reveal all

So to re-iterate, don't say too much or this thread will be gone! ;)

Would you mind giving an alternative form of physical protection against casual laptop theft? I'm still using the locks in question, and will continue to. For 30 quid, what do you expect.

As it stands ladies and gentlemen - you are not allowed post links to the video or any indepth descriptions of that lock and how to undo it. You are allowed to talk about it as we want people to know about the frailties of that lock and that there laptops may be in danger.

As this is such a touchy subject i needed confirmation from an Admin and was advised not to allow people post the vid link but ok to warn people.
    Apologies about the delay.

Cheers Nuken, not too difficult to find on the interweb plus I think the video is very boring but info on the fact that the lock is so frail from a security standpoint it is worthwhile mentioning on here so good decision made by admins on not pulling the thread.

There are lots of alarms etc available: http://www.securitykit.com/notebook_security_kits.htm
