    hey. i'm upgrading my current overclocked system. was just wondering if anyone would offer suggestions or anything. yep, i know it's an AGP upgrade but i figure it'll last me, at the very least, one year. oh and seeing as its a 478socket chip there aren't really many PCI-e mobos available so if i was to go PCI-e i'd have to go chip, mobo and g-card instead of just the AGP equivalent.

    consists of:

    Northwood 2.6g @ 3.2g (Zalman AlCu)
    1g GeIL platinum PC4000
    Abit IS7-E motherboard
    beQuiet! 370W

    upgrading with:

    Beantech Igloo 4 Miditower, Black e79
    NEC DVD recorder ND-3520A IDE Black e54
    Sapphire Radeon X800XL 256MB AGP e350
    Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 160GB SATA e92
    LG 19" LCD L1910B TCO-99 Monitor e399
    Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS, Bulk e59

    total = e1033
    and that's pretty much my budget...

    hard drive = maxtor 60gig (about 4 years old)
    generic dvd drive and cd-rw. (about 4years old)
    generic 19" CRT. (same again)

    Looks like you’re spending your money wisely, but I can’t see a PSU on your shopping List. You might look in to this one , its a bit expensive but IMO worth it.

    i think the beQuiet! 370W would be enough to power the lot... do you not think?? i mean i'm not adding the new stuff to the old, i'm replacing and gonna make a second system...

    you planning on Overclocking?

    i'm a chronic overclocker so yeah...
    cpu def, but prob won't overclock the gfx for a while... 'til i get bored or something or 'til i want more impressive benchmarks...

    one more question;
    do any of you have any experience with these cases,
    Cooler Master Cavalier 3
    Beantech Igloo 4?

    i'm lookin for pretty darn decent airflow and quietness would be a bonus.

    by the by, i'm purchasing all products through komplett.

    (but i'm not gonna overclock the 2nd older system when i have it together... well, maybe)

    I used this case in 2 builds. Its quiet, but im not sure about the airflow, can take 4 fans, 1 intake, 1 exhaust and 2 side fans. Its worth the money though and is a good solid case and tooless design is good, looks cool too IMHO
