Dell Dimension XPS R350 case & dimensions

    Hey all i know this is a long shot but any help would be much appreciated.
    I have an old Dell Dimension XPS R350 and i need to know the dimensions for the CD Drive :) i don’t have it in front of me either to measure it myself. would anyone know? i know dell use specialised cases so i want to change the drive but its gotta fit.

    My guess would be that its a standard drive maybe with dell designed front facia.
    Dell try make their pc's cheap, non standard parts cost more.
    Open the case when you get time and inspect it

    FWIW I have a 1998 Dell XPS R400 which I imagine is pretty similar.
    I had no problem replacing the CD drive with a standard one I bought in Peats after my then two year old swung out of the original CD caddy like a trapeze.
    Not to be too sarcastic but if you still have the manual AFAIR there was a good section on replacing the CD drive with diagrams etc which if all else fails you could try reading. :o
    Anyway my point is - standard ones fit and its quite easy.

    Cheers ,fitting it is grand no probs there i was just worried that a new combo drive i have bought for it wont fit :) but it seems from posts that they are made fairly standard.can alwalys get out the metal file :D
