Just a quick Batman question.

Hi. I'm pretty new to this whole thing, and while I do have most of the Batman graphic novels that are on sale, there is one thing about Batman that I'm very confused about: What's with the giant penny and the dinosaur in the Batcave? Nothing I've read has explained them yet. Cheers.
