    Hey,
    I lived in Barcelona for the whole year last year and I have a little bit but Im not a native catalan speaker, Im learning it off my friend there BUT I have a language exchange partner from there, a catalan girl in my college and her and this guy Xavi are both catalan, if you really want you could try and set up a meeting with them, i could tell them...
    here's the bits I know... (it also helps if you know spanish!)

    spanish ......english........catalan
    muy bien = great/very good = molt bé
    buenos días = good day = bon día
    buenas noches = good night = bona nit
    que quieres? = what do you(sing.) want = que vols?
    estoy bien = i'm fine/good = estic bé
    adios = goodbye = adeu
    me gusta = i like = m'agrada

    Obviously there's always more but that's a little interesting start! It's a beautiful beautiful language, very strong sounding, much more vowel sounds. I'm moving back to Barcelona after my finals in May so I hope to learn it properly there.
    Good luck ;)
