Just a reminder about Dominicon, the website has been up for quite a while and will be updated regularly. Dominicon is held in NUI Maynooth, which is a 40 min train ride from Dublin's delightful Connolly station. We are being held on the 11th to 13th of March.

Unfortunatly you wont be seeing us all there. I think there is a con on in galway on the same weekend as dominicon so we will have to split the team up 1/2 will go to galway 1/2 will go to maynooth.

not sure yet I'm going to have to send a memo to the team to decide on a plan of action to determine if were going to have sugared or plain doughnuts at the meeting were going to have to see who's going to which con .....

Yes the clash is unfortunate but all has been sorted in that regard.

I think I was talking to speaking to specky regarding some of you diddlysquat boys coming along. How evermany you bring you will be welcomed and led to the pub afterward.

    Ooooo enticements!!

I hate to have to split the crew but I promised the Galway folks that we'd be at Itzacon too and there are a lot of them....and they know where I live.....or could find out....

...but we shall make sure the Maynoothonians get to see us all up close and personal too. Haven't worked out all the logistics yet (no rush....until the last minute!!) but however we organise things it'll be a great weekend for everyone!

there are plans to split up the diddly sqaut team fo that week end just how we have yet to decide, names from a hat, or a game of knuckes or throwing them into a lake and the ones that float go to maynooth and the ones that down go go galway .

throwing them into a lake and the ones that float go to maynooth and the ones that down go go galway .

Send the witches to Maynooth? I think not...or is that just a subtle way of you saying you want to be in the Maynooth team??

What you mean send a self confessed witch and pagan to what was once the frist cerical training college for preists in the country to be allowed after the repealing of the penal laws ? :D

I do believe that would be our now sister college St. Pats. Who will be giving us a room for the In Nomine Cafae Mane LARP with the proper gravitas. So play nice with our seminarians.

Oooo...In Nomine in St.Patrick's College, how appropriate...and what a lovely setting too....as Homer would say....MMmmmmmmm....sacraligeos!

Yep and with a free cup of coffee.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 914 ✭✭✭Specky

Yep and with a free cup of coffee.

    ONLY one?!

....actually if it's anything like the free coffee at Vaticon, one is probably too many...

think I had about 10 cups of the vile stuff....came away looking like a Ukrainian presidential candidate...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40 brass

Well you see the LARP is a coffee morning for the Archangels. There will be an large vat of the stuff made.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 914 ✭✭✭Specky

...b-b-but...I think I'm in the Itzacon battalion....!

Damn You!! <sinks to knees in front of empty coffee vat with feeble looking fist clenched at the sky> Damn you all to hell!!!!!!!!

    We can make coffee too...

In fact, if you ask nicely, the con director might take you with her on one of her coffee benders. She buys about the same amount as most canteens, and uses it up just as quickly... :)

    ooo...a coffee bender...

For me that conjures images of stubbly faced gringos in the depths of some seedy bar, staring at each other through curling clouds that rise from frothy mugs of the darkest of dark roasts.

...not suggesting that your con director is stubbly-faced by the way (she is far from it, as I remember), only that all the people in my imagination are stubbly-faced...

hmmmm coffee, will there be foam ?
    will there be syrups ?
can I bring my own pint size coffee mug ? [it comes in pints!!!]
will there be brown sugar ?
I may even bake some of my peanut cookies and some shortbread cookies
    and bring them with me.

oh hang on you said this was a LARP
I was all caught up in the coffeeiness, hmmm a Larp .............................
cant say I have every really LARPed before did a few table tops ones that well aint that differnt then straight RPGing.

    But but but coffee...........

ok but only if i can play an angelic agent trying to battle his drinking problem with coffee :)

nah nah nah na poor Specky no coffee for you.
maybe cookies but that will depend on that black or red t shirt.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40 brass

No I think the extent of it will be me and the big steel coffee thingy and a beat up cappuccino maker. Then again Aldi just opened down here my budget might stretch to biscuits.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 43,044 ✭✭✭✭Nevyn

ok ok ok tell you what as i'm the fussy one i'll bring the brown sugar cubes and the homemade cookies as they will make for a wonderfull distraction from the fact I am LARPing . :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 914 ✭✭✭Specky

I shall be in attendance in Maynooth (my home playing field so too speak :D)

I have to say, I like that Brass markets Beer!

Itzacon comes real close with the coffee but unfortunatly, I shan't be diping my biscuit.
