    Hey,

The hinge on my laptop screen has just become loose so it's not staying upright. It just falls down! Does anyone know how to tighten it?

It is a 12 inch screen.

    Thanks!

I'm sure every model is different. Have you got the user manuals for it?

Sounds like you need to tighten the hinges.
Like most things it depends on the Make and Model of the notebook , not the screen size. Many brands have two little plastic covers at the outside hand of the hinges on the laptop base. If you are lucky you may be able to unclip then and tighten the screws with a small philips screwdriver with a good head. Sometimes you need to tighten the hinge inside the screen, this is hairy since lots of chances of doing something nasty. Other notebooks require you to take the cover off the base - not recomended. With others there is a certain amount of fiction built into the hinge and if it wears out then not much can be done.
Again it depends on the model.
does it rattle, is there any left, right movement ?

you must be carful tightening, to tight and you will crack the case itself, not straight away but over a month or two it will, as for how, basically as per capt'n midnight

I used to work for samsung repairing notebooks, and in some cases there aren't any screws to tighten, and the hinge would need to be replaced.
