Vandal proof switches

Been looking at the Vandal proof switches in maplins. http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=12203&TabID=1&source=15&WorldID=&doy=5m10 Got 1 elsewhere but I have no clue how I'd wire it up. Anyone else used these? I dont want to blow the led by giving it too much juice. Says something like 2v@2ma. Do I have to stick…

Says something like 2v@2ma. Do I have to stick a resistor on the wire or wha?

yes you need a resistor.

12V supply => 12-2=10V to be dropped => 10V = 2mA x 5 K ohms
5V supply => 5-2=3 to be dropped => 3V = 2mA x 1.5 K ohms
