    I've always liked Xara Webster

nice one for the response all, i've heard about Xara webster cliph but never used it. Only other xara program I used is it's 3d thing which is a time saver for 3d spinning things.

I could never get used to Corel Draw even if you had a gun to my face 24 hours a day.

Illustrator will be my baby for the next few weeks then, now where did I leave that insstallation cd... hmm

i got freehand and fireworks recently.

i think freehand is used more for illustrations for print media and it looks like it is tricky enough to work with.

fireworks looks very good though - you work in vector mode (but can also use bitmap mode) and you can constantly preview how your work looks at various optimisation settings. its focus is web graphics so i would say that is your best bet.

If it's for web graphics then fireworks is probably better.

It depends on what kinds of effects you'll be looking for.

Also, Freehand is supposed to be pretty good too.
