Yep hes been given a 2 year deal....

The fool, BAR have had one of the best cars on the grid for the last 2 years ( last seasons car was as good as the 2003 Ferarri they were hampered by their tyres ), an awesome engine, a team that will support him 100% ( Williams won't you only have to look at their track record with drivers they are possibly the worst team on the grid at dealing with drivers. Its all about the car with them not the entire package ) I had hopes for Button being a challenger in 2005 ....ah well

Ah ffs! As much as I hate to say it, I was starting to develop a liking for the git! But if next years Willliams is anything like this years he'll just fade into the background. I had high high hopes for him for next year.

i think its a master stroke for FW, Button is the best talent on the grid IMO, of course ITV will be unsufferable with their whole brit team, brit driver etc, move over DC

    Is montoya going to Merc/McL?

Yeah, Montoya's going to partner KR.
Button/Webber, sounds like a fantastic line-up, but if the cars shít its a waste of talent.

Heidfeld for BAR! :D:D I wish!

Dave Richards is going to play hardball with Williams, ....

Love the "400 people at the factory want an explanation." quote...

    This could be fun

He should have stayed put.He had the oppurtunity to build the team around him and with backing from Honda for another 2 years things were looking good for Jenson.David Richards has been good to Jenson and has been singing praises about him since December last, so to stab David in the back like this is not on.
Don't get me wrong , i'm very much aware of what Williams can do , but as Devilman said , Jenson will not be the no1 driver like he is at BAR.The car is the focus at Williams, and if he doesn't get their car to the front irregardless of whether the car is capable or not , he'll get the boot.

Only 2 choices I can see to replace Mr Button....

Couthard (Good God I hope he doesnt get it )

and Heidfeld (Please let it be him ..he deserves a decent car just to show McLaren what they passed up on when they decided not to take him instead of DC )

hmmm very interesting, but I'm not entirely convinced that Hakkinen still has the ambition or the will to suceed that he had at McLaren.

Probably the most interesting thing to happen in F1 this season.
As much as I think Richards is almost as much of a moaner as Dennis, I think he has a right to feel aggrieved.
Isn't button managed by, he of grid-walk fame, Martin Brundle??
With talk of legal action, these sure are interesting times...........

Poor auld Jenson could lose his superlicense over this according to Bernie Ecclestone. If he is found to have signed with Williams illegally then he wont be driving for anyone next year.

Well both teams have registered with the Contract Negotiations Board - Williams with a long-term option and BAR with an option from the last contract.

BAR's option ran out on July 31st but they say they approved the option on the 20th and that it was registered with Button's management and the CNB.

CRB rules that Button belongs to BAR in 2005 (from http://planet-f1.com/news/story_16863.shtml)
According to a BAR press release the Board ruled on Tuesday that Button's contract with BAR is the "only valid contract registered for the 2005 season."

Yeah, I was just reading on F1Racing.net that Button's BAR contract is the only legal contract he has for next year. He needs to stay with BAR cos they are improving so much and he is improving with them. He can win races with BAR, going to Williams is just a step back for his F1 career.

    Now Im totally confused!
Williams hit back at 'misleading' BAR
meanwhile, the FIA go & do this:- BAR receive second blow as appeal rejected
