Bad Beat

    I was wondering if anyone knows how that bad beat thingy works.

    I see it at the front of fitzwilliam all the time, with Bad Beat 5557, and I'm wondering what it means :)

    As far as i know, the bad beat jackpot is for cash games only. Also to win it, i think you have to be beaten on 4 of a kind or better.

    I think its valid during the monthly 250 aswell. But its mainly won in cash games.
    I asked John the pit boss of the club about it before. If you have a house, maybe its a poker, or higher and you lose you get the bad beat. Now the reason, if you are ever there when there is a bad beat, there is lots of noise in the casino when it happens is because the entire table benefits from it.
    The person who loses the hand gets the majority of the fund, the person who beats him gets a chunk aswell and the rest of the table gets the rest divided between them.
    Also you might ask where does the money come from. Every hand that is played in a csah game there is a Euro or 2 taken from the pot and this adds up to give the bad beat total you see when you walk in the door
