    this has prob already been posted, delete if so, but

    moi thought "skeptical" was spelled "sceptical" and "skeptical" is the american version?

    You're right ... this has been posted about before (in fact it was one of the first threads).

    You're right ... the 'k' spelling is the American (or ancient) spelling.

    The decision to use the k spelling is because nearly all skeptic groups worldwide have adopted it.

    And anyway sceptic is just damn close to septic ... don't you think?!!

    thats the problem with translating from the greek alphabate to the roman one.
    Skeptic would be a truer reflection of the correct pronounciation imo
