Hey im not sure if its ok to put this here and im sorry if its not but i put my site up on line this morning and i am looking for members and feedback on it

Divine, it's part of your domain entry. There is a requirement for certain contact details to be entered and either you or the company who registered your domain put your real life address in there.

I don't know exactly if you have to have a vaild registrant address, certainly you are ment to have a administrative contact, but that isn't you (unless you own the machine hosting the website). I don't have my real-life contact details for my personal website though I technically should, and if the regulartory authority (ICANN) decide to crack down on invalid data I may lose my domain, but to be honest ... fuck them.

If you look for a whois lookup website or the whois command in unix and give it your website you'll see what info is in there exactly (apparenly you are in the US!), if I were you I'd get it changed, tell them you moved address if you like.

Tuxx, Exposing somebodys personal details on a public discussion board is a very low blow :mad:
(Even if it is publicly available information.)

Hey thanks Philbert im all happy now lol, i still dont know how my address is showing up though.

Rob1891 can you explain how it is happening, how can i find it. I tried to look it up on register.com but nothing happened, is that right no?

It takes a while for stuff to propogate through the whois databases so dont be surprised if it doesn't change within hours.
