Gardai have confirmed that an arrest has been made in connection with the Wellington Quay bus disaster. It ahs been six weeks since the crash involving two buses one of which was picking up a queue of passengers when another ploughed into them. Five people died. Investigators said at the time inquiries into the cause would take six weeks to complete. It has emerged that last Saturday Gardai arrested a man in connection with the crash and later released him without charge. A file has been prepared and sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions, the role of whom is to decide whether to recommend a prosecution. Gardai have refused to say whether the man is a bus driver or an employee of Dublin Bus.
