Saw report on the TV this evening. Apparantly this machine is being introduced in the UK now. It's called AWOL - Alocohol Without Liquid. Basically, it's mixes spirits with oxygen and you then inhale it.

Sounds like a blast. And no hangover.

But what about the taste and texture of a nice pint?

    *Plants hands firmly on hips*

    I say NO!

You can still have yer pint and then take a lungful of the oxybooze. Hurrah!

Yeah, becuase a glass of whiskey has so many calories in it! (sarcastic)

Wouldn't that be bad for your nose anyway?

Your nose, your lungs, your vital signs...

Still if it helps kill of annoying laddish binge drinkers, I have nothing against it.

Sounds a bit like the trick of putting vodka in th emicrowave and sniffing the fumes. Never tried that myself, since the guy I saw doing it developed a nose bleed...

ban smoking and introduce the sweet tang of your favorite tipple into the otherwise stale air of your local drinkery. Sounds like a plan to me... Call me traditional but I'll always prefer the actual act of sipping on a pint. Theres something more satisfying about that than inhaling. Hmm, George Bush "I didn't inhale" moment coming on...

Aragh I'd give it a go but
a.) Liquid oxygen is very expensive
b.) Once a Dublin pub get's their hands on it you can expect the price to double when compared to the cost in London.

It's just a fad and it won't last.

I've seen that and frankly its freaky! Bunch of people sitting around a table with straws jammed up their noses with this odd look on their faces. Looks like someone napped a lot of comatosed people from a hospital and dump them in a nite club.

Is that a man on the AWOL site trying out the machine?

    Emerson

    I especially like this bit
Up the nose or breathe in the mouth, straight to the brain.

    great.....no fuss

It seems unlikely to be healthy to deliver vaporised spirits diluted only by oxygen directly to the lungs.

The inventor's scientific explanation was really great: The alcohol is legal and oxygen is legal so it will be fine if its used sensibly and not abused.

How do you *not* abuse this machine ?

Next week: Shoot up your shots.... syringe bars.
