Yes actually.. back in 3rd year in secondary school... at least I think it was 3rd year... I was headbutted for absolutely no reason whatsoever by one of the scumbags in my year. Hurt like a bitch and got no sympathy from anyone (quite the opposite really, I was attacked verbally for days after by several people wanting to know what I had done to him). I dont think the school ever did anything about it but I think the guy is on the poverty line/living in a cardboard box/serving time now... So it all worked out in the end :D

There's always a reason. Perhaps not a good one... but always one.

Perhaps they know you as a Boards.ie member. (warrants a headbutt IMO)

I was headbutted by some lad last night because he is obsessed with a particular girl and I happened to be there with her and a couple of other people. It started off with him looking over at me and saying "Your an ugly bastard". Blatant jealousy at its best. So i grab him by the neck and say to him "If your a man and have a problem with me you will say it to my face". So i look away then WHACK like a bullet in my lip. No blood. But all i kept thinking about was this whole Anabells case so i put my hands up and walked away. He knows i would have killed him. And if he had headbutted my nose, I would have. But he got me in the lip and was blatantly jealous of me so apart from me having a slightly swollen lip, I walked away in a win win situation. :)

But it came out of nowhere.

    Classic! :D

Ive been headbutted in rugby matches but its better to just do nothing and snigger as the other fella gets a card off the ref!

Got the utter crap beaten outta me in town (cork) one night for trying to stop a fight by some old scumbags who were trying to start on my bud, you know the ones who are like 40 with shaved head and tattoos, boy did my head hurt the morning after, looked like i had been kicked about 7 times before i could get up! Luckily the alcohol kicked in and i couldnt feel anything on the night! although i did have the best nights sleep in ages!

    Fair play to you :)

He didnt get the rise out of you and by walking away, you are the winner.

Walking away from situations like that is and should be the new kewl and the Girl will think more of you for it aswell.

i'd say that wasn't exactly outta nowhere, and there was a reason. you grabbed the **** by the neck. wtf did you expect? walking away was the right thing to do,but then acting the hardman on boards.ie makes you a bigger tool. shut up and stop threadwasting.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 316 ✭✭Michelangelo

Im not a hardman. Thats my point. Thats why I walked away. grabbing him by the neck was a bad thing to do and im the first to admit it. But when some little **** keeps calling you an ugly bastard and throwing really aggressive looks at you, mix that up with me being 20 yrs old and a few cans of beer and you have a lethal mix.
All i kept thinking about was this whole Anabells thing so i put my hands up and walked away. He obviously saw me as being a wimp from doing this but I didnt care, he had headbutted my lip, that was all. So i walked away in a win win situation. Ask 90% of dublin males about that, and they will tell you thats a cop out thing to do and you should fight back but i dont see it that way so i walked away.

Also, when i say i happened to be there with the girl, i was not going out with her. Im just a friend of hers. that is all.

    That's not for no reason...

Sorry you are right. I obviously do have a little grudge against the individual for that now but that can not be helped. But ye you are right. If i am going to let it go, then let it go.

Just grabbing someone and trying to talk tough to them is a bit stupid. If you're going to get physical (which should only be when you absolutely have to) then make it count.

Fair play for walking off though.

Your totally right. It was really stupid of me to do that. Im going to do a krav maga course. I dont know how to effectively hurt someone proper without it being a scrappy situation.

It's more fun, if you're sober enough, to insult them in an ambiguous way that could almost be taken as a compliment except for the sarcasm. You'll be a hundred yards away walking before they figure it out.

There once was an irritating git in secondary school who seemed to love trying to provoke me. He once tried punching me repeatedly while I was waiting for a class to start. Gave me multiple dead arms, but I didn't let it show. Instead I just looked calmly at him until he stopped.

However i am a girl so he did cross the line. I was in hospital for a week. He was in prison for 6 months. HA!

    Sweet Jesus.

    I truely hate scumbags.

The thing is, if he hadn't beaten you up, but instead cleared out your bank account, he'd probably have gotten 5 years.

    Our justice system is ****ed.

Dude, your post is the only totally OT one...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,217 ✭✭✭Kur4mA

I think it was about 5 years ago at this stage that i got the **** kicked out of me by about 10 of the local scum. This happened in my local park, and it happened for absolutely no reason because i didnt know any of the guys.
I spent the day in hospital, and had a lot of very large bumps and cuts on my face/head, but luckily the cúnts didnt break my nose.
It all worked out in the end because most of them, especially the 'leader' of the group got what was coming to them. ;)

And did it put an end to it for good or did retaliation occur?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,166 ✭✭✭Johnny Versace

He was referring to my post saying the topic should be binned because of it.

    I have no idea why...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,396 ✭✭✭✭Karoma

no he didn't... the drivel that's being posted is the reason it should be binned. do you know someone who was sent down for white collar crime or something?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,166 ✭✭✭Johnny Versace

Um... yes he (you) did. What's with the attitude???

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,488 ✭✭✭SantaHoe

Well to normal people - someone who starts on someone else for no reason is a complete spastic.
But in skang culture, it's a display of 'bleedin madzoh'.
Don't you think it's always the case that they'd only try it on when they're in groups?
But he got me in the lip and was blatantly jealous of me so apart from me having a slightly swollen lip, I walked away in a win win situation.
Yeah good job, let him think he's won the situation.
At least then you don't have to worry about him bringing 10 of his little friends to wait for you outside.

    God, it's a fvcked-up world :dunno:

Dont be fooled people. These guys are not skangers. They are the rugby clowns from Blackrock/Foxrock and surrounding areas. Deep down, there a bunch of cowards. The craziest thing of all is when I got decked by this clown, they all got togeather like in a scrum telling me to get the hell out. It was madness. My self and the people I went with left shortly after.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,548 ✭✭✭Draupnir

Well, the problem with the Blackrock heads, including the lads involved in this Brian Murphy trial is that they seem to want to be a lot harder than they really are.

I get the impression that all the people I have met who are from these big, rugby playing schools and rugby clubs tend to have an attitude for violence and when they get a few drinks on them, suddenly they become better than anyone else.

Basically, posh boys who all want to be the hardest bloke in the world. Im a Northsider and I grew up in the inner city, basically I have a major problem with Southsiders and D4 heads, they just get to me. They just do. So much that this post makes no sense. I cant express it enough. I gotta stay off this booze.

A drunken kick boxer tried to headbutt me once, missed and I threw him through a window ;)
