    Get the 46a to O'Connell Street
    then the 13(I think from outside Dr Quirkeys Knacker Emporium) says Poppintree on front, to Glasnevin.

    I'm pretty sure its 2 buses either way.. bus into town then 11/11A/13/13A/19A out to DCU.

    I'd say 46a to o'connell street and hop on to the 11 on the same street. would be my first guess

    46A from Deansgrange is a no brainer, drops you at Stephens Green, Dame St or O'Connell St for a low low price of €1.65, dunno from there.

    I found that alright but there doesn't seem to be anything in the way of a route finder on the site. You'd think one would be easy enough to code really...

    Thanks for the suggestions!

    Try 'A-Z Destination Finder', wait for it to load, click 'D', wait, click 'Dublin City University', wait click '46X' wait, look at route.

    Or would you like someone to click the mouse for you?

    What I meant was a route finder, not a destination finder smart arse. i.e. you enter your start point, then your desired destination and it gives you all available options... there's something similar on www.irishrail.ie

    746 stops on Swords Road, about 2 mins from the main gate of DCU, doesnt go down collins ave (which is where DCU is) though.

    46x, 58x, 746 direct or 46a to city and 11/a 13a 19a, 41/a/b 33 from city to DCU.

    45 / 46A to city and 11 / 11A / 11B / 13 / 13A / 19A to DCU will get you the most options.

    The following would be most direct:

    http://www.dublinbus.ie/your_journey/viewer.asp?route=46X
    http://www.dublinbus.ie/your_journey/viewer.asp?route=58X
    http://www.dublinbus.ie/your_journey/viewer.asp?route=116 ( Sandyford Industrial Estate / Stillorgan, not Deans Grange)

    http://www.dublinbus.ie/your_journey/viewer.asp?route=746 will get you close by

    Another option:

    DART -> Clontarf, 103 -> DCU http://www.dublinbus.ie/your_journey/viewer.asp?route=103
