Who's typing at this exclusive club into the wee hours and beyond?
so why doesn't everyone give a brief description of who they are and why aren't they in bed yet ?

Well i have 2 great excuses

I'm clearing up some work I should have had finished ages ago.
The reason I'm pulling an all-nighter is because I got up at 4pm today, and now I'm trying to plan my sleep pattern to get up early Saturday morning.

Sure but the majority of people who read this thread today are going to find it completely irrelevant.

    Wait. Why am I here?

    Who cares?

This is After Hours, not Civilized Hours.

We should keep this going so. Everyday at 4AM, we'll dig this up.

Opps sorry, took a break from surfing to watch Garak torture Odo on DS9.

Me unemployed also (for the last two weeks) :(

Bit of an insomniac at the best of times but when you don't have to get up for work in the morning why go to bed at all :D

Oh well nice to know there's others....

I have DSL, I'm a student, I work better at night.

I'm unemployed and I'm on a shared (and free) DSL line, so why wouldn't I be up at this hour of the morning. I'm a night owl anyways so, this is when I think best tbh.

I find the night time nicer than daytime also. It's calmer, more peaceful. What myself and a roommate of mine like to do, is wait till the wee hours of the morning, grab a chair each, maybe a can of bulmers, and head up to the roof of the apartment block for an hour to two. Its suprisingly nice up there at 2 or 3 in the morning. Watching the dark sky, with a few pinpoints of lights contrast with the lights of the city really is beautiful, and we get some weird conversations going as well, which is always fun.

Putting the finishing touches to my 3rd year mini-project final report now.
    Have about 30mins left.
Sitting in the sitting room typing this on Asok's machine beside me through a VNC connection to my machine which is upstairs, and isntead of a monitor I have a data projector pointing at the wall.
My eyes are starting to bleed and I have a headache from the refresh-rate and blurry screen (it's focused as best I can).
Have to get a cab down to Ceannt Station at 5am to grab a 5:30am train to Dublin for the Sun Developer's Day conference thingy, should be meeting up with a few of the DCU peeps who are getting their exams today.
My head is splitting and Panadol doesn't do a fecking thing.

Lol, request for a new board: opposite of "The Breakfast Club" board? Where "the rest" talk about what they did during the "day time"...

I do night shifts every so often. This is my third in a row. I'm broken. Went to bed at half nine yesterday morning. Woke up at 5, got up at 6, realised I had to get a bus to work in less than three hours. Almost cried. Watched some Family Guy. Felt better.

I love my job but night shifts really make you pay for it. I can't believe most of you people are horsefucking your cicadian rhythms when you don't have to and aren't getting paid for it.

You're all going to break your heads.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,958 ✭✭✭Chad ghostal

Used to do those kind of night shifts.. seems like one long day, never out of work. it sucks.:(
    my heads already borked anyways.
    #. shouldv watched a film..:dunno:

    Sorry I'm late:D
I don't believe there's such a thing as circadian rythms. I work 4 night shifts. So, if I stay awake all day after the last one, I effectively 4 days off a week. The body and mind can take it.
