im getting a pop up that says

Generic Host Process for Win32 Services has encountered a problem and needs to close.

then my dsl connection is cut

can anyone advise pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee?

looks like you got smitten with the blaster virus or some such varient.

do the following: Start->Run.... here type in services.msc

In this window, find the service that keeps on being killed. Rightclick on it and open its properties. At the top you should see 3 drop down bars, that control what windows does when the service stops. Set them all to "restart service". Then restart your computer.

Then download yourself a virus scanner of some sort, and get that virus removed.

try Remote Call Procedure RPC. (not the locate one). OTher than that, google it.

This will disable the worm.
I was infected by this guy on Friday.
I dropped my firewall for 30 secs and in it came straight away.
Norton Antivirus said it removed it but it kept on causing my machine to shut down after about 5 mins on the internet.
The patch solved the prob.
