Ever seen a Ghost ?...

Anyone ever seen a Ghost ?..

I have when I was 12 years old and a very close relative had just died. I did not know they were dead, but I was sitting talking too my brother, in an upstairs bedroom. His was sitting with a window at his back and as he talked I saw this grey misty unmistakable vision of the person who had just died, very slowly drift up past the window and smile and wave to me, as if to say goodbye.

I can honestly say that experience changed my life, and ever since I have had no doubt that there really is a hereafter. Although I am not particularly religious. I do believe we have a spirit or energy force that moves on somewhere else after our human body dies.

Anyone else had a similar experience ?...

Ive never seen a ghost, although I have firm belief in them (and a spiritual beyond or afterlife) due to some occourances that were, to me, more than coincidences.
Also Ive heard plenty of strong anecdotal evidence (yes, i know its not scientific, but that doesnt bother me), as regards clairvoyants and the like....

According to my mother, When I was around 5yrs old, I refused to go into the hairdressers, because, according to myself; "The old woman upstairs says im not to go in there any more" ... now, my mother assumed this was just me not wanting to get my hair cut, and said I'd go get it cut after a week or so. A week or so passed, and she tried to force me to go in, but I was crying hysterically at the door.

My mother brought this up in a conversation with my grandfather, and apparently, my great aunt used to have her own hair salon upstairs in there, and she despised children...

Can any of the believers out there explain one thing...
Picture this, you die. Theres an afterlife.
...so you choose to hang around a building for a few hundred years, scaring people. Why? Are you that petty? Doesn't that sound a little childish to you?

I personally don't believe in ghosts. I cant reasonable believe that if there was an afterlife, someone would choose to hang around a castle say, spooking people.

The reason they would stay around is because they might have died tramatically/suddenly, they are not aware that they are dead or they are restless waiting for something to bring peace to their tormented souls which will allow them to pass on

...yea, for a couple of hundred years, spooking people.
Gimmie a break - not convinced at all.
People die tramatically/suddenly the whole time. If that was the case - you wouldn't get anywhere near any WW2 prison camp.

    Zulu,

You know, not everyone is"spooked" by Ghosts. I for one have no fear whatsoever be they good, bad or indifferent.

Have you, or do you know anyone who was "spooked" by a Ghost or restless spirit. If not, then why bring up "spooking" in the first place ?...

emmmm, thats the general preception of ghosts isn't it? Isn't that a good enough reason to bring it up? I didn't notice anyone saying that seeing a ghost was the happiest moment of their lives.
If I did see a ghost, I think I would be a bit spooked. I would imagine most people would be spooked.
(Just did a quick survey here in my office 6 out of 7 staff would be spooked if they saw a ghost - the one that wouldn't, well better bite my tounge on that one!) Not everyone is as hard as you I guess ;)

Anyone seen the ghost in 3 men and a baby?

Its a young boy in the window in the bedroom just as the mother comes in to see the baby.

Apparently he used live in the house and died falling off the balcony or something

Check it out - its there - its pretty dang creepy

Still - ghosts, eh? Who knows? Not me....

Heres my worthless opinion, you are all a biological machine, every atom that makes you was here before u were born, you were dead before you were born, hands up who was bothered being dead when the dinosaurs were stomping around for a few hundred million years, or when napolean was struttin his stuff or the world wars were raging, not me, will be the same when im dead, no worries, so i don't need to believe in ghosts or any other supernatural stuff, including god and similar

I believe in ghosts, two appeared hovering over me when I woke up in the middle of the night, a few nights / maybe weeks later, something grabbed my neck forcing me to wake up.

Also, when I was younger, I had these dreams about an old woman, and when I told my nana about it, I gave the exact description of her grandmother, who I had never even seen a picture of, or had heard about her before.

My granda saw ghosts when he was younger as well. Definitely I believe that there are other beings co-existing with us. I think that you jus have to be open enough to believe, and only then can you see. Tiz the kinda thing that I'd love to see them again, but it's really a scary experience as well. I ain't surprised that loads are sceptics about the whole ghost thing, but I guess at the end of the day, if you haven't experienced it yourself, you won't believe in it :)

I'd love to go and visit some places that are supposedly haunted. Back home in a village a few miles away, there was this house that even on a hot summers day, the road in front of it was always freezing cold, and around it. Odd.
