Less "power" shots and more placed ones, possibly meaning less going over the bar from inside the area for better players

Less red cards but more yellows, and improved professional foul AI

Are there any noticeable differences in speed? I havent played the game yet (not ill Xmas day). On the forums on SI Games a lot of people were complaining at how slow the game is. Apparently this patch addressed those speed issues.

Seems to have speeded things up a hell of a lot for me. Running a medium database and have noticed a drastic improvement. Thumbs up so far.

Noticed a considerable increase in speed using a large database.
Havent played a match yet though so can't comment on yellow card frequency and shots on target.
I was already getting a load of yellow cards before hand anyway.

I have my copy of 03/04 on order and it should arrive in the next day or two. I'll download the latest patch when I have a lot more time, but do I need to bother with the first patch? If so, where can I find it, it's nowhere to be found on the SI Games site?

Afaik you don't need to install the first patch, the 2nd patch will include everything that was in the first as well as the last few updates/improvements.

www.sigames.com should have all the downloads on the download page, but there's some problems with the forums at the moment (there was yesterday anyway), and there might be a problem with the patch being downloadable.
