red hair and green eyes

I was driving somewhere lately and half heard a conversation on the radio. The gist of it was people with green eyes and red hair have fallen below a certain critical number and will eventually (in a few generations) become very rare and then will not be found at all. Apparently something to do with genes for these factors not being dominant and also the present numbers have got so low it is harder for them to meet and produce more red haired green eyed people. Anyone hear this or was it just a dream?
