Winter night dog walks

Anyone know anywhere safe to go after dark in south Dublin where I can let my dog off the lead? In summer she gets lots of walks in the evening after work, but in winter her walks draw in with the nights.

She's a collie mix, so she likes *lots* of running and chasing and wild games - a lead walk isn't a lot of good to unwind her.

My favourite places in summer are Tymon Park, Bushy Park and Sandymount Strand (except that half the strand ends up at home on the sanded - literally - floors). But none of these is safe after dark in winter.

    Ideas gratefully welcomed.

    There's a pets forum here - http://boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=240
You might get a better response there.

The promenade on Bray SeaFront is well lit for nighttime walks.
Not sure if they have an 'always on lead' sign around though

isn't "walking the dog" a euphemism for masterbating? is this a pisstake? recommendations for doing it in the park... this thread sounds dodgy.
