It's up there with the card they give you when you cross the US border. It asks you something along the lines of whether you were involved in genocide between 1939 and 1945 and whether you've ever been a member of the Nazi party. Only for the fact that I've discovered first hand how humourless US border officials are I'd almost be tempted to say yes...

I could imagine it now counting down:

    5
    4
    3
    2
Your weapon has caused a critical error and must be restarted!!

They won't sell to you. ever. And they'll report you to the US Government. And they'll get the CIA on your case.

Ok, maybe not, but it means that your online order will be rejected and you'll have to convince a member of the export compliance team that you were joking before they'll sell it to you. Its a legal requirement for them because they're registered in the US.

if you get one you could ask him/her to sing that to you while you sleep.

a bit off topic, but does anyone else think that that song is a stalkers anthem, just like Enrique Inglasias' Cry (I dont know why, but i love to see you cry) is a wife-beaters anthem?

hhehe i think DMT said "painfully anal" i think thats some kind of freudian slip :p Anyway it's just standard procedure with most american products nowadays, They do it with all technology that can be used to build a wmd

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,895 ✭✭✭bizmark

so you have to sign a "i will not use this to create a wmd" thing when you buy a pen or some a4 paper after all some times a mad nutter just needs to write down what he is thinking

i worked for IBM and we had something called the Denied parties list,

list of people and countries u couildnt sell pc's to,

think it comes from the cia originally,

Yuri Geller is on the list believe it or not, cia hired him for his abilities but he jerked them around so they stuck him on the list to piss him off,

also someone in IBM in the states sold an as400 a few years back which ended up in Iran i think it was and was used for nuclear testing, and IBM got onto huge sh1t for it , fines ect,

    just my 2c!
