Ok i was looking for porn on the net like most guys who are 18/19 do and i clicked on a link that looked like free pictures but it wasnt...and tons of windows opened up...in those windows was loads of crap and some of them was advertising child porn. I was absolutely disgusted by this and closed it all down instantly.

Im wondering am i in trouble now because of this accident? Should i notify the guards and explain what happened? This is really bugging me out...

the actual site with the porn links was [EDIT]A bit of common sense goes a long way - ecksor[/EDIT] and one of the links in there went to all this **** when i accidently clicked on what looked like free pictures...

its actually bothering me a lot.

i was under the impression that (well most of the harder stuff) porn was illegal in ireland.
Unfortunately even if you reported it to the guards there very little they could do seeing as the server is probably hosted outside this country.

ok, had you actually seen the prime time investigation into irish peadophiles you would have seen just how useless irish cops are when it comes to child porn. they have no dedicated task force, most arrests/convictions made are based on information from foreign intelligence or investigations and the others were made by luck (eg one man {policeman, btw} was convicted for possession of CP only after a prostitute reported him for asking her to get a young girl to have sex with. I may be wrong, but im almost sure they said they found illegal files on his WORK computer too).

Basically, CP is totally sick and wrong, but if you were into it youd be able to staple a picture to your forehead and dance around Garda HQ for 3 hours and probably still avoid arrest.
oh, and as someone already pointed out, if you were to be in any danger, admitting you looked at CP to a public forum isnt a good idea... if they dont get your whereabouts from you going to a link, then they can just pick up your IP from here. nice
