Due to the christmas madness and the strange tendency of people wanting "holidays" I haven't got a confirmation of the venue yet.
I'll post on room101.org regardless, and hope for the best.
If the Aula falls through I have a backup of sorts.

Alan, I'll do out the teams, randomly.
This balancing shite detracts from the "X Factor" and glory of the game.
More fun if the underdogs come out on top.

Random teams are bollocks.

Last time we tried it with Cyan's random generator thing, me, sin adn raven came out on the same team.

Not to sound big headed, but it wouldn't be much of a competition then would it $:\$

I'll organise the teams. I'll plonk ye Alert boyz each on a different team and cast hairs plucked from my arse into the wind to determine how the rest of the pool is divied up.
I don't play CS, I am impartial and couldn't give a rats arse as long as the matches are fun and people don't go roaring the heads off each other.
I think everyone is up to a certain level of competence in teh game by now and are able to handle themselves.

I will also pick any other teams that need picking to ensure....am....something......er...with my program arse_hair(rand());

Would they be more comfortable knowing that there is a rather large locked door before you even get into the quad and then another locked door on the lan room with security keeping an eye on the place. Or if we can swing the import me sitting in a foxhole at the door with an m60.

tell ur dad that most people leave their pc's in there overnight as its perfectly safe and they wouldnt if they knew it wasnt.

I'd say my Dad knows all the safety issues and such cus he works there and all, I'd say I'll be going still, if I couldn't leave my pc there then I wouldn't bother going at all tbh, this will be my first lan.

How about introducing a qualifying round for the competitions?

Was thinking for a desert combat one could run a doubles copetition.
depending on the numbers have a qualifying round to bring the numbers to a multiple of 8

then pick your team mates and going by their stats from the qualifying round spilt them into groups of 8 so that each group of 8 has 4 teams in it. then work a round robin to find out the winners

So for a 24 person comp

Group A plays Group B
Group B Plays Group C
Group C plays Group A

the 2 man team with the highest score of the matches wins

This way people get to play with a person of their choice so its not totally random and you might actually get to sit beside your partner and not have to shout across the room or work in silent.

how about shutting up? :> only messin, that could work for bf alright, but it would definately find problems in other games, eg. Drake and RaveN together in cs, I think there should be 1 team captain sort of thing for each team, then they take turns picking teams, the best captain would pick last, the worst would pick first, eg. Drake and RaveN and SiN would pick last in cs
