They and Clinton (Bill) were all born within a couple of months of each other. I have to say Clinton does not look well. I think Hillary is only a year or two younger.

I think America will need to sign a MOU with Israel now to stop acting the maggot.

Far-right Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir has said that "all of Lebanon must burn" after Israel's military announced the deaths of four soldiers there.

The Israeli losses were the first to be announced since a US-Iran deal was signed to end the Middle East war.

The agreement was also supposed to halt the fighting between Israel and Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah in Lebanon, and Washington has expressed frustration at Israel's ongoing campaign there.

Meanwhile, Israeli strikes in south Lebanon killed at least 18 people, the Lebanese Health Ministry said.

"With all due respect to the Americans, Israel must make it clear to the entire world that the blood of our sons and the security of our citizens are not up for bargaining. All of Lebanon must burn," Mr Ben Gvir said in a statement.

"For every tear shed by an Israeli mother, a thousand Lebanese mothers must weep," he added.

"In the Near East, you don't win with measured responses and restraint."

Far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said Israel must "go wild. Eradicate. Defeat terrorism."

"We must let fire speak ... and open the gates of hell," he added

Since the start of the war, Israel was always going to be the escalation trap.
America have to choose between WW3, and ditching support for Israel.

    They will choose WW3

    Netanyahu statement

I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families of the commander of the 52nd Armored Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel Dor Gadliah Ben Simhon, and of the three heroic fighters whose names have not yet been released, may their blood be avenged, and I wish a full recovery to the wounded in yesterday’s exchange of fire.

Following the heinous attack by Hezbollah, which was a blatant violation of the ceasefire, I instructed the IDF last night to strike Hezbollah with full force.

The IDF attacked more than 80 terrorist targets and eliminated dozens of terrorists. Subsequently, the IDF struck Hezbollah headquarters in the Bekaa Valley this morning.

This morning, I held a situation assessment with the Minister of Defense and the Chief of the General Staff. My directive is clear: Israel will not tolerate attacks on our soldiers or our territory, and it will exact a very heavy price from Hezbollah for these attacks.

The IDF will act to thwart any threat to our forces and our territory. As I made unequivocally clear, including yesterday: Israel will remain in the security zone in southern Lebanon for as long as required to protect the settlements in the north.

I'd say that's part of his plan here.

He'll kick the can down the road endlessly and then leave the next President with a colossal shít sandwich to eat when he leaves and then he and the GOP will blame them for it and say they'd never have agreed to give them the money if they were in charge!!!!

It's what he did with Afghanistan, signed an awful deal, and when it went south, he wasn't there, putting whoever is in charge in the position of restarting the whole war or the consequences of the awful deal.

And we had people on this thread putting all the blame on Biden and not saying anything about Trump's role in it… completely disqualifying the credibility of any and all foreign policy opinions expressed.

You can't kick this can down the road I'm afraid. You'd break your foot and be on your arse.

Would you trust America to pay it? Feels like they're just stalling to get past the WC and then the midterms.

There are 100BN in frozen assets. So maybe some from there.

Do you think they're not? Looking at their post history there's plenty of evidence to assume they are.

The image (original fake one) used a headline which was taken from an article warning England fans about Starmer chants. A few articles actually had it.

The usual propaganda channels took the headline, made up a song about trump and it went viral through the usual social media channels before finding it's way here.

As for if I like it, it's only a football match and if they were to actually sing that song about Trump I'd laugh. But I can't really like something that never happened.

"A new transatlantic drama is emerging in Italy, after US president Donald Trump told an Italian broadcaster that prime minister Giorgia Meloni “begged” him for a picture on the sidelines of the G7 summit earlier this week.

Talking to the La7 broadcaster, Trump reportedly said:

“She begged me to take a picture with her! She wanted a picture with me so badly. I wouldn’t have taken it, but I felt sorry for her.”

Extraordinarily, Meloni immediately took to social media to respond, posting a short video clip and saying “neither I nor Italy ever beg” anyone for anything.

The Italian PM said she was “astonished” by “completely made up” claims by Trump.

“I don’t know why the president of the United States behaves like this towards his allies: it is not the first time. I can only say it is disappointing that he does not show the same determination with the enemies of the West and of the United States, whose leaders he instead treats with far greater indulgence.”

More strong words here... Love it.

Trump is 'wrecking historic relations between the US and Europe,' Meloni ally says

Another close Meloni ally and undersecretary in her office, Giovanbattista Fazzolari, also heavily criticised Trump’s attack on the Italian PM.

“It is unclear whether out of intent or ineptitude [Trump] is wrecking the historic relations between the United States and Europe,” he said in a statement quoted by Reuters.

“With his inappropriate outbursts, he has managed ‌no easy feat, to make the United States unpopular across the entire European continent, damaging not only Europe but above all the United States,” he added.

You’re doing Trumps work by defending him, fair play.

The guy who said "im in charge" then spent ages standing alone on the sidelines as the other leaders spoke to each other, thats the guy who was begged for a photo?

As someone else said before, they lie like they breathe

Yes, they've really, really fallen out. I'm not sure what else Meloni expected given Trump's record.

Need to see much more of it, but Merz had an outburst last month (before weakly gifting Trump a Germany jersey) and Macron had his moment in April which was at least something:

"This is not a show. We are talking about war and peace and the lives of men and women," the French president told journalists upon arrival in South Korea for a state visit.

"When you want to be serious you don't say every day the opposite of what you said the day before," Macron added.

"And maybe you shouldn't be speaking every day. You should just let things quieten down."

I think European leaders are pushing back more readily and more often now, but it's taken too long to get to that point, and it hasn't really been strong enough. Nevertheless, the more the merrier.

Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani abruptly cancelled a planned trip to the United States this weekend, calling Trump’s claims “serious and offensive” toward Meloni and all of Italy.
Meloni for her part posted a video calling Trump’s claims “completely fabricated.” She concluded: “Italy and I do not beg.”

Pissing off Italians is never a good thing.

I've never seen such incompetence played out in detail in front of the world.

Perhaps negotiations are conducted in private like this (I doubt it), but to be publicly embarrassed with the relentless back and forth, threats and climb downs, the lies and general ignorance for all to see will go down in history.

    It's a complete shambles.

Except in Ireland, where we need to keep schtum due to our daft economic policies. Which we've decided to double down on.
