Those players were all mentioned in the referees report if I am correct so the CCC had to take action.

I don't know what the threshold or criteria of an incident needs to be for the CCC to step in or if there is any, but I'm not surprised they haven't engaged for this match. It would open a can of worms for the rest of the season for every kind of incident.
For me most of the football stuff is handbaggy nonsense anyway that they are better off steer clear of and leave to the refs.

I'd be far more concerned at some of the dangerous tackles in hurling that are not being punished and players ending up concussed and having to leave the field - this year and last year.

I`m not sure they all were mentioned from seeing some reports, and the Donegal v Armagh game in 2022 had players cited on review for a full-time incidents that the referee didn`t deal with on the day. Rian O Neill in particular as far as I recall..

    Agree on hurling

I don't see Tommy Rooney or Mike Quirke highlighting Colm Boyle's run in with Barry Cassidy yesterday. It's strange when they were calling for consistency last weekend.

    Cork, in Ballybofey.

As good a draw as we could have hoped for. Great that ballybofey is available as we'd probably lose in Letterkenny.

Could have been better, could have been worse. A help that Ballybofey is playable and we are at home.

Out of the four that are tipped as favourites to win outright it is probably the toughest.

A very winnable game at home and a great chance to make it back to the quarter final and have some time off. Hopefully no repeat of the Down performance. While there is a safety net I'm certain McGuinness will want to go directly to QF.

Am I right that the quarters final is round 2A winners vs round 3 teams? And I think avoids repeat pairings if possible too? Its hard to find a straight answer.

Considering we have kerry played, Armagh, Tyrone, Galway round 2A (assuming favourites all win) would be avoiding the worst in the quarters too

I think it would only be Kerry (or Cork) that ye'd avoid in a QF:

The four winners of Round 2a shall be drawn to play against the four winners of Round 3, subject in the first instance to the avoidance of repeat Provincial Final pairings and where possible repeat pairings from Rounds 1 and 2.

But in a SF, ye'd avoid any team ye've already played:

The four quarter-final winners shall play against each other in the Semi-Finals based on a draw, subject to the avoidance of repeat pairings from the championship, where possible.

Format for 2026 All-Ireland SFC and Tailteann Cup

Donegal v Cork not on GAA+

They only have rights to broadcast 3 games that weekend

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,342 ✭✭✭overshoot

The other teams i mentioned are also 2A(sorry read a little like we had played them too)... or at least who i was assuming would win, so "winners of 2a drawn against winners of round 3" we would avoid them in the quarter.

I wasnt thinking as far as the semi!

Don't know why everyone's losing the plot online. Every game doesn't have to be live. It wasn't in the past. Being truthful the games they have picked see more interesting to the neutral. Prob mean bigger crowd and better atmosphere too

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,965 ✭✭✭✭charlie14

Not that I have used it much, but if my experience with GAA+ is anything to go by it`s an encouragement to go to games.

Anybody have any idea of the situation with Ciaran Thompson. With that left peg of his it would be ideal to see him back now for free taking from that side and his two pointers as well as what he adds other than both.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,660 ✭✭✭Redsoxfan

If Thompson isn't in the squad for Cork I'm not sure we'll see him in any meaningful way this year.

And it's an issue. We didn't need to worry about it against Kerry but if we get to a QF, or end up going to Rd. 3, the lack of a left footed free taker will be a problem.

Sorry, I don't normally post here as I don't follow the football, but my dad just called me asking about getting a ticket as he was going to get one in Supervalu tomorrow when he was in Ballybofey. But then he heard they're selling quickly. So I checked and none avaiable on ticketmaster. So I figured would ask here if there's any hope of him getting one or if he should just ask around for a ticket?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,054 ✭✭✭downthemiddle

The game was close to a sell out earlier today. There should be a few tickets coming on stream in the coming days as it's unlikely Cork season ticket holders will travel in huge numbers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,847 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Thanks. Will keep an eye on Ticketmaster.

Looking for 2 tickets to the Cork match, missed out on Ticketmaster

I'm a season ticket holder & can't make it to Ballybofey, have a stand ticket available & can transfer via Ticketmaster & Revolut.

McMenamin, Curran, Thompson and McCahill not named in the squad. It’s not looking good for the latter three at this stage.

where is the place to be before and after the game for pints???

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,640 ✭✭✭harpsman

spare south terrace ticket if anyone looking

So the Down game wasn't an anomaly after all. Straight knockout from here and could be out of the championship next weekend. Only saving grace is getting another chance in the first place

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,127 ✭✭✭babybuilder

Poor poor performance. Backs against the wall now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,660 ✭✭✭Redsoxfan

An awful collapse. Ballybofey is no 'fortress' any more. Hard to take anything from that game given we have already lost to Down. Zero 2 point threat. Conor O'Donnell form a concern. Gallen was good but can't finish games. Maybe Michael Langan isn't fully fit. We didn't kick on when leading by 6/7 points.

    Desperately disappointing.

As a neutral the carry on of that Donegal steward was a disgrace to the GAA , trying to choke a cork supporter after the game was totally over the top and that steward should get a life ban from the GAA carrying on like that .
