And I'm inclined to say that's a pretty crap attempt at rewriting those riots. They were using your beloved X to push the claim that the government had covered up a death to escalate them. The riots served absolutely no purpose and achieved nothing outside of making ordinary people feel unsafe in the city.

Now we've got homes getting burnt out and your justifying that.

I mean you're right, going round door to door looking for non white people is insane and incredibly racist.

Would love for us to separate the two though, people with concerns and the door kickers. Seems it never happens though.

This is identical to Parnell Square. It was a time for potentially uncomfortable mainstream conversations about immigration, deportation enforcements, protection applicants from safe countries, cultures, etc. but we never got them. And people just went on, Riad who? Whatever, probably mental health, no discussion required.

Well here we are again, now anyone with concerns just gets lumbered into the mob rioting. Round and round we go.

Victims == immigrants (not the guy with his eyes gouged out)

Villain == far right (Sudanese guy will be memory holed like Riad)

But of course a nationality is different from a legal status and if an individual is a criminal, it is perfectly legitimate to label the individual as a criminal. And it is a fact that the Western world is being taken advantage of by some asylum seekers that are criminals.

Was there riots and were people calling for the government to take action on drug dealers ?

A little research goes a long way. The 'CPAD' protests of the 1980s were a long drawn out campaign that was necessary because the state was doing very little about drug-related crime. Mind you, not much changed until the daylight murder of Veronica Guerin in 1996 before firm and decisive action was taken by the state.

Within a week of her murder, the state enacted the Proceeds of Crime Act 1996 and the Criminal Assets Bureau Act 1996, so that assets purchased with money obtained through crime could be seized by the government. This led to the formation of the Criminal Assets Bureau commonly known as CAB.

When ordinary peasants die from crime, it's just another incident in the eyes of the state. When one of their own (media is another extension of this state) then bam, laws passed.

I guarantee you one thing, if that innocent man last night was a close relative of any high-ranking politician or a media personality or high up in state officialdom anywhere in Ireland or the UK then tight migration laws would be passed by the middle of next week.

’We’re angry at change. That’s why we’re burning our own city to the ground’

Why various media are saying ‘protestors’ set the fires is beyond me. Call them, thugs, rioters, whatever. Protestors don’t hide their faces.
The media is doing a disservice to genuine protest with their language here

This is water. Inspiring speech by David Foster Wallace https://youtu.be/DCbGM4mqEVw?si=GS5uDvegp6Er1EOG

Anyone going around marking out houses for burning is a far-right scumbag, and I hope they are caught and dealt with as harshly as possible under the law.

Anyone going around implying that ordinary people who want tight immigration laws passed are aligned with far-right scumbags, are they themselves far-left scumbags.

The far-left have a rather unusual habit of picking the most ridiculous hills to die on.

A simple solution to these events is don't give leave-to-remain to bogus asylum-seekers.

If the Govt / civil servants continue to allow bogus failed asylum-seekers to stay here, then they are to blame.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,311 ✭✭✭InAtFullBack

That will not change until it's a high-up civil servant or Govt official that's on the road, praying for a nationalist patriot with a hurl to be nearby. You can take that to the bank.

It's not rocket science to open up the news and get some reporting as to what's going on at the moment.

The below are facts. Burning decent people out of their homes is all the far right offers.

And it's also a fact that a significant cohort of racists on these forums refuse to condemn this.

We can guess why that is.

Did folks see the attack video? It's fairly rough, couple of bistanders came to save the guy, one armed with a hurl - interview with him in the Belfast Telegraph.

What of what we have witnessed on our television screens are you disputing?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,003 ✭✭✭For Petes Sake

Simple solution is to not burn people out of their homes.

Imagine blaming the behaviour of these knuckle-dragging c*nts on foreigners, and on foreigners who literally haven't harmed anyone.

It's exactly remarks like this where I have no problem calling people on this website racists, because that is exactly what they are.

I think people have a right to be angry at the stabbings, but should not take it out on innocent people.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,003 ✭✭✭For Petes Sake

They will take it out on innocent people and the same select few on this website will make excuses for it.

All because those innocent people are foreigners.

Imagine the immigrant community decided to fight back and burned people out of their homes. We'd never hear the end of it.

Thankfully they have a bit more class than these homegrown scumbags who are destroying the very communities they are claiming to protect. And the same gullible racists are lapping it up and cheering them on. Fools.

Sure we can condemn the violence. But it is not scapegoating immigrants as a whole to say that there needs to be proper background checks of asylum seekers. This man had been in the asylum system. I think the Western world is moving towards a restrictive approach, and the question is will Ireland be an outlier on this. I think a Reform UK government is likely to tighten up controls. Given the CTA, I think we will need to follow suit.

I'm sure many legal immigrants agree that there asylum system is being abused. To someone who came here legally, and met tough requirements such as heavy international student fees, I think seeing some skip the queue is unfair to them aswell.

Fairness includes fairness to the host society. Our first thoughts should be with the man who was stabbed.

Breaking: The British press are reporting that this man entered Northern Ireland through the Republic. I think the Irish government should address this.

The whole asylum process originates after world war 2 but has now been weaponised to facilitate illegal economic migrants from Africa to Europe, its sowing the seeds for the far right movement aided by MAGA to fracture Europe apart, both sides of the coin ( the influx of unvetted male migrants and the far right) need to be tackled or else there won't be any centrist left, only far right against open border anti racist head cases.

This 30 year old man in the UK pretended to be an unaccompanied minor to get asylum. He joined a Maths class with actual children.

The do-gooder, left-wing social workers who permitted this should be fired. There needs to be repercussions.

    Incredible.

And far from the only case. Putting our children at serious risk.

This was not stabbing incident. It was attempted beheading. There is no wonder far right is exploiting these situations. Look at sheer amount of immigrants on the streets majority of whom are entirely dependant on various state schemes with no indication of stopping or even slowing down the flow. Things are going to get worse since there is zero vetting on who can come and because of dwindling resources to pay every newcomer off. New arrivals will be frustrated if they end up living in tents and any attempt to cut out, restrict or reduce generous social welfare will be met with instant hostility because of some entitlement feelings.

Research ? I was around throughout that time. Which Indicates your either a child or not from the island.

When the live streamed murder occured using power tools. I recall you and other folks on here opening threads about it and being incredibly outraged about how such an incident could occur. How a career criminal could be allowed to be out and walking and do these things despite is list sheets of convictions against his name.

Your outrage was so palpable at the time with the horrendous nature of a teenager that you took to Facebook and Twitter and boards screaming from the rooftops about it.

    Do you remember?

Stephen Yaxley-Lennon was inciting fascist pogroms yesterday from Russia, where he was meeting with the credibly alleged paedophile Errol Musk, the father of Elon Musk. You don't meet in Russia unless Vladimir Putin gives approval.

These pogroms and so many others like them are the work of a worldwide fascist establishment, the richest and worst people on earth.

The AI misspelling of businesses as "bunnesses" is such a lovely touch.

I doubt they vote to be honest. I'd rather people that riot spoil their votes. They are far right thugs. They are only using the incident as an excuse to riot. They couldn't give a fiddlers for the victims. As I said, brainless thugs.

I am all for protests but to gain any respect, they must be peaceful.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

So when these protests were announced, everyone knew the intent was to cause chaos including the likes of burning buildings down. Do you not mind that children are being put at risk by burning down the homes of immigrants?(Who are completely innocent but you don't seem to care about that) This is racist loyalist rioters taking any excuse to riot, you and others are behaving as if it's a few bad eggs.

Meanwhile we have the likes of Yaxley Lennon egging it on from Russia, he is also very much so a career criminal who found a niche in racism.

These riots achieve nothing outside of making Belfast look like the old days.
