Roaming still a problem with 48. It stopped working for 2 mobiles in Gran Canaria this morning as did our daughters in Glasgow. 40 minute wait for agent to say some customers were experiencing problems. Great service when working but aftercare poor.

Outage lasted 12 hours. Mobile signal came back but not the Internet. Opening 48 Sim toolkit and clicking on When Abroad, network selection, manual, select local home profile, restored internet connection. This worked for my daughter in Glasgow too.

You are right, sometimes it fails. I just checked it out of curiosity and it worked for me few times, but I have 3 friends that are showing as Pending referrals but Switched. Strange.

How does this work? I am looking at signing niece up, but the Lycamobile offers seems better value? This is €20 for the first month (after "activaton") and then €9.99 for the remaining 5 months.

There's a 100GB/200GB FUP with Lyca, I'm not sure how much it's enforced but it is listed in the T&Cs. It mentions that the speed may slow to 128/256Kbps once the threshold is reached. The plans available with Lyca are -

€11 per 28 days for 12 months, €20 thereafter, 100GB FUP mentioned.

Thanks. So trying not to go too much into it here, Are 48 per month as opposed to 28 days? So if I pay on the 9th of march, the next payment is the 9th of April? The lycadeals are €9 for 6 months (or 6 payments) 30GB/unlimited calls texts then €15, or €10 for unlimited all 6 months then up to €25. (at which point I guess she would jump ship).

Going by the higher one on Lyca after 6 months = €60. The 48 offer for 6 months = €80 unless she gets one of these offers through referral links she then gets €10 voucher and a 7th month free? Is that correct?

The 28 days vs 1 month might be the clincher for me. As that would be a lot handier for her to top up (Not automatic). They seem to work out the same price otherwise, with the exception of the €10 voucher that would be otherwise cash. Assuming that I have it all correct.

The other option would be the €9 x 6months = €54 with 30GB data (but she would be mostly with wifi anyway).

Yeah they'll get a €10 voucher, you can choose between Tesco, Aldi or Adidas and they'll get credit that they can buy their next plan with, I'm not sure if it will be €10 or €12.99.

You need to have two months bought before they'll issue them afaik.
