The Palestinians aren't colonising Israeli territory.

The population of Gaza reduced from 2.23 million to 1.85 million (to June last year).

Out of interest, who do you think should be blamed for the Genocide? Perhaps the 1000 babies who never even made their first birthday?

Did you read the UN definition of Genocide I suggested?

Seems there is a significant change of mood, at least in Europe, as regards Israel. Perhaps Ben-Gvir's video is the last straw.

"The video of Israeli authorities' treatment of flotilla protesters has "accelerated" the mood at EU level for action against Israel, Taoiseach Micheál Martin has said.

Mr Martin said there was "a lot of anger" across the EU at the video of the Gaza aid flotilla protesters' treatment, which he said had "shocked the world".

He was speaking after a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris, after which he said Mr Macron "shared my concerns with the behaviour of Israel"."

But I ask you honestly, what do you think would be a reasonable and fair solution to this conflict and ultimately a fair outcome for long term peace?

Off the top of my head and in no particular order:

    1. Israel to implement all the requirements of the International Court of Justice issued last year (vacate illegally held land and pay reparations)
    2. All Palestinian prisoners in administrative detention to be released immediately or be charged and prosecuted
    3. Negotiations to commence on a two-State solution
    4. ICC Arrest warrants for alleged Israeli War Criminals to be executed and alleged perpetrators to face justice
    5. All atrocities committed by identified IDF soldiers, Settlers, Hezbollah and Hamas to be investigated and prosecuted in full
    6. Any and all measures decided in the ICJ Genocide case to be fully implemented and adhered to
    7. Israel to comply with the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons
    8. An independent enquiry into Oct 7th and in particular, the killings of Israelis by the IDF

You know my opinions on this so you'll know I'm being sincere here.

While I in no way condone/excuse what the Israeli regime have done to the members of the flotilla, it's utterly telling that despite all the war crimes that have been committed by Israel over the last three years (and in no particular order of barbarity); killing more journalists than in any other conflict ever, destroying all the schools and universities in Gaza, raising graves, deliberately targetting medical personell; leaving premature babies in incubators in the open air to die; torturing people; IDF terrorists destroying the homes of Palestinians and gloating about it on social media while parading around in underwear belonging to women who lived there.

It finally took a bunch of (most likely) predominantly middle class Westerners being tied up and taunted by these fascists for governments, including our own, to say enough is enough - and even then nothing will be done. The hypocrisy is sickening.

Sick depraved cowards. The IDF are just a force of disgusting cowards. It easy to murder or mutilate innocent unarmed people. Yellow bastards.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

Hah! very fortunate not to find themselves floating at the botton of the ocean attempting a publicity stunt like that. There`s more pressing matters back in Ireland they could protest about!

Is that the Atlantic or Pacific ocean?

Why would the hundreds of multi-nationals be protesting in Ireland?

That's mostly very reasonable, and I think if we had better leadership from both sides (And with the election coming in Israel, it's not impossible at all), most of those would fly pretty well, except for 7.

That just ain't gonna happen in the real world. For several obvious reasons. Firstly Isreal has never signed that treaty, so is not bound by it. Secondly, I think we can safely say they're not going to sign it. Thirdly, we all know they have multiple warheads and several means to deliver them (hence point 2). Fourthly, those warheads are probably the single most strategically important capability the Israeli military/state possesses.

It'll take something like EU-like levels of trust in the Middle East between Israel and all its neighbours before they'd contemplate giving them up. That's the realpolitik here.

It's remarkable that this incident has had as much impact as it has. And yes, I totally agree with you - it's so hypocritical that people (particularly politicians) are outraged at the treatment of the flotilla protesters.

Hind Rajab, the medics buried in their vehicles, the triple tap executions, the journalists, the starvation tactics, the use of phosphorous, the invasion of Lebanon and further massacres of civilians, the Settler thugs murdering, stealing, looting and the rape of a prisoner - I really thought any and every one of these would have been the last straw for anyone with the moral fortitude to say "enough".

If the odious convicted racist and terrorist Ben-Gvir is the last straw, then I'll take it. I hope it happens this time around. But if it doesn't, there is bound to be something else.

The ICJ ruling that Israel has committed Genocide? An Israeli appearing in The Hague? The dark secrets of Gaza yet to be uncovered? Another flotilla illegally detained and protesters beaten?

    Who knows.

    But this has to stop.

Change of mood is about as wishy washy as you can get. I must change moods ten times a day. Zero conviction, zero action.

He’s basically saying European leaders feel a bit put out or a bit more pissed off than they were yesterday.

But they’ll get over it by the weekend. “Sure they got home safe”.

    Who would have thought it?

There's such deep rooted sentiment re Israel/Gaza, Palestine/Lebanon/Iran. Yet here at home racism is on the rise as seen in the recent fuel protests with added racism and crying about foreign nationals getting different benefits. You asked!

Oh dear, this is where the whole charade could unravel!

    https://www.newarab.com/news/texas-democrat-calls-treason-charges-over-israel-lobby-money

Democratic congressional candidate Maureen Galindo has called for
American politicians who accepted money from pro-Israel groups to face
    treason charges
, as a new report by rights group Democracy for the Arab
World Now (DAWN) renewed scrutiny of the deep ties between the Israel
lobby group AIPAC, the US government and Israeli institutions.

Galindo, who is running in Texas’s 35th Congressional District,
said she would introduce legislation to have "all American candidates
and elected officials who have ever taken Israeli money tried for
    treason".

Can’t help wondering who is picking up the tab for these repatriation flights?

What is happening to the boats that were used on the voyage. And the ‘supplies’ that apparently being delivered.

Kind of wondering what was the point of the whole flotilla?

Difficult to get one’s head around the whole episode based on the reports of previous flotillas .

    Very strange?

Israel has "confiscated" at least some of the vessels. Sounds like piracy for sure.

the point of the whole flotilla was protest and trying to highlight the plight of Gazans who are desperate for aid.

As regards protest, is say those brave people achieved their goal though I doubt their injuries and treatment by Israel were/are pleasant. Fair play to them.

Not sure what you find strange?

Sounds like the flotilla protesters were treated horrendously by the apartheid state going by reports.

I see there's talk that some of the activists are considering taking legal action against the Israeli state. It appears many captives were brutalised and quite a few were left with injuries - this has all been carefully documented in Istanbul for future reference.

Some interesting additional detail on the detention of the flotilla protesters from Haaretz.

First notable detail is that there was one Israeli in the flotilla - she confirmed that the treatment was worse than the last time.

The second piece of info shows that the IDF and the Israeli Prison Service don't seem to be able to get their story straight.

Haaretz headlines - free by email:

"Activists who took part in the flotilla to Gaza in an attempt to breach Israel's naval blockade of the enclave told Haaretz on Thursday that they encountered violence and harsh conditions from the moment Israeli forces took control of the vessels. One activist said they were treated "like animals," describing how, after being transferred to a military vessel, they were ordered to lie face down on the floor. They were then blindfolded, handcuffed, and tied to "an iron structure near the floor, on our knees."

Zohar Regev, the only Israeli citizen aboard the flotilla, told Haaretz that the treatment was worse this time than during a previous flotilla to Gaza she participated in in October 2025. "We were in the floating prison for two days. They set up a kind of enclosure, assembled containers with barbed wire on top, without mattresses or anything.

They didn't even let people take their clothes; they gave bread and water, and that was it," Regev recounted.

Meanwhile, after a video by far-right minister Itamar Ben-Gvir showing detainees from flotilla being treated aggressively and humiliatingly by security personnel sparked global outrage, the Israel Prison Service said its staff acted "according to procedure." The prison service clarified, however, that some of the detainees shown being humiliated in the footage were not under their responsibility at the time they were filmed.

Security sources said most of the documented videos were from areas under the control of the IDF and the police. However, in one photo showing flotilla activists kneeling with their heads on the ground, Israel Prison Service personnel are also visible. Haaretz asked the service about this, but received no response."

I wonder were the "Hezbollah militants" just like those 12 Hamas terrorists in Gaza that were dressed as medics?

Or is it possible the IDF are just lying? Again.

    Haaretz:

The Israeli military said it had killed five Hezbollah militants on Thursday after troops identified them entering a militant command center in Lebanon, as well as two other armed militants on Friday morning it said were spotted approaching the Israeli border.

Earlier Friday, Lebanon's Health Ministry said that at least 10 people had been killed in Israeli strikes on Hezbollah-affiliated medical facilities overnight, with six paramedics and a child among those killed and numerous others wounded. It was not immediately clear whether the casualties referenced by the IDF and the Lebanese Health Ministry were regarding the same incidents.
