This is a mad state of affairs. I did not foresee Trump potentially getting hit with another bullet this quickly at a WH Correspondent's Dinner.

Weijia Jiang had just appeared now on the podium saying the venue has to be evacuated as per the security protocols.

Trump's been told that he has to leave the venue. He will hold a press conference in the next 30 minutes.

This has just come up from a WH reporter on the BBC News live feed.

President Trump, according to Heinrich, was holding in a nearby room and wanted the dinner to continue, though he just posted on social media that law enforcement have asked him to leave.''

This is what she wrote while the venue went well into lockdown.

Attendees in the room at the Hilton have still not been allowed to leave, and the door from where I believe the loud bangs came from has remained closed.

Many high-profile dignitaries remain among the journalists in lockdown, but other members of the Trump administration, such as Robert F Kennedy Jr, were taken out of the room.

There is suggestion that the president may come back, in line with his post to Truth Social, but there is no timeline as to when programming at the White House Correspondent's Dinner will resume.

Attendees are awaiting a statement from the Secret Service.

Trump has just said the gunman has been charged. And a photograph of the gunman being arrested by LEA's has just been released on Truth Social and on other social media platforms. Trump also that the gunman had multiple weapons when he arrived at the ballroom.

The NY Post has reported that the gunman assembled his weapon outside the hotel before he went into the ballroom.

It will be interesting to see the law enforcement agents find out here when they question him for more information while they are looking at his assembled weapon or while they look at his multiple other weapons according to Trump.

If you're talking about scientists being missing by ICE; I didn't know they were taken by them if that was the case. If they have any link to the suspect; it will be interesting if the law enforcement agencies go further with extracting more information from the suspect if that were true.

Although it's crazy to see that the suspect darting through the security gates at the ballroom from looking at a clip of the footage of that moment on Truth social via CNN.

No Google the missing scientists. Many high profile American nuclear scientists and NASA scientists have disappeared in the last year or two. It appears some worked in Caltech where today's shooter graduated. Could be a coincidence but motives come in all shapes and sizes.
